Virginia was born to parents, Albert Sydney Sparks and Alice Roach Sparks on May 31, 1932. She was the oldest of 11 children. Because Virginia’s father worked on Dairy Farms, their family moved around often. She graduated High School in North Carolina, and soon thereafter, met her beloved Robert Donley “R.D.” Lee. They were introduced by her cousin Frieda, and the rest was history. They were married for 53 years until his passing. Virginia’s heart belonged to her husband and family. She loved raising her children, gardening and sewing. Her family will dearly remember her sweet laugh and sense of humor as she fixed big meals for family and friends. Virginia’s love, later in life, were her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom she enjoyed as much time as she could. A beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend will be dearly missed by all those blessed to have known her.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Alice Sparks; husband, R.D. Lee; son, Garry Donley Lee; brother, Al and sister, Judy.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Linda Jean Johnson, and husband, Jesse; son, Robert Wayne Lee; grandchildren, Misty Sorchevich, Timmy Phillips, Bobby Phillips, Amy Weliczko, Chris Lee, Regina Dunkin, and Jesse Lee; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter ; brothers and sisters, Lynne, Glynn, Paul Wayne, Sharon, Marvin, and Jimmy; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
