Martha Miller Laizer passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Edwin J. Laizer Jr. She was born on December 27, 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of Gilbert G. and Isabel Mansfield Miller. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Marion Miller Mason.
Martha is survived by her sons, Mark Mansfield Ferguson and wife Jane Ann, and John McLaughlin Ferguson; daughters, Sarah Helen Ferguson, and Laura Isabel Ferguson; sister Jean Miller Hodil; grandchildren William Ryan Ferguson, Kathryn Jane Ferguson, and Michael William Ferguson; stepdaughter Janet Laizer Angelo and husband Robert; stepson Edwin C. Laizer and wife Rhonda; and step grandchildren Denise C. Baran, Brooke A. Laizer, and Edwin Grant Laizer. Martha attended James Madison University. She was a member of the University Club in Pittsburgh, Metairie Country Club, Colonial Country Club, and volunteered at East Jefferson General Hospital. She loved her family and friends, and the many pets she raised in her lifetime. Her compassion, caring, humor, love, and loyalty will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
