David Willard Connor, 74, of Temple, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, March 31, 2017. He was the loving husband of Nancy J. (Row) Connor. The couple married in Wyomissing on September 22, 1962.
Born in Washington, D.C. on May 5, 1942, he was a son of the late Harry L. and Margaret (Hedgepeth) Connor. David was a 1960 graduate of Annapolis High School.
David was employed with the City of Reading, Bureau of Fire for 33 years as a Fireman and Paramedic. He was one of the first group of four selected from the city to go to the former Sacred Heart Hospital to receive training and licensure to operate as a Paramedic. David was past treasurer and past president and member of Reading Hose Fire Company #1. He volunteered with the Western Berks Ambulance Association and Muhlenberg Area Ambulance Association. David was also employed with Berks County Intermediate Unit as a school bus driver for 15 years.
David enjoyed the time he spent in his cabin at Promised Land State Park. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed traveling to Canada for hunting trips. Other trips of enjoyment were to Alaska or out west to the National Parks.
In addition to his wife, Nancy; David is survived by a sister, Betty L. (Connor) Miller and her companion, Deborah Slick of Worthington, WV; three sisters-in-law, Betty J. (Row) Porter, Carol A. (Row) Wentzel and her husband, John and Cheryl L. (Row) Reichart and her husband, Terry and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
David is predeceased by his parents, a sister, Lois (Connor) Koons, his in-laws, Earl W. and Clara I. (Zimmerly) Row and brother –in- law, Wayne E. Porter.
Family and friends will be received in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606 on Tuesday from 9 to 11am. Services will be on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 11am in the funeral home. David will be laid to rest in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.
Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made in honor of David to the Reading Area Firefighters Museum Inc., 501 S. Fifth St., Reading, PA 19602.

Nancy so sorry that Dave passed away before we had a chance to see him. We are still in Florida so we will also miss the funeral. Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this very difficult time. Will never forget the great times we had traveling with you and Dave. Will miss his great sense of humor and his great sense of humor.
I will also remember all the bells that I had gotten over the years and we still have them.
