Herman R. Hanlin, 91, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017. He was born on July 22, 1925, a son of the late Charles and Verna Marie (Morgan) Hanlin. He worked at American Electric Power as a substation foreman. He was a member of Grabill Missionary Church and loved being outdoors and all the activities that go along with it. Surviving family include his daughters, Amber (Jerry) Stieglitz and Paula Hanlin; grandchildren, Bree (Greg) Wurm and Brandon Watson; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Zachery, Tristen; and sisters, Geraldine, Lois Jean, and Joan. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Gladys (Mitchell) Hanlin; a daughter, Terry Hanlin; a grandson Zachary; and a brother, Donald Hanlin. Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne with a gathering of friends and family starting at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to American Alzheimer's Association or Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Family and Friends of Herm, Sorry to hear of Herm's passing. We were next door neighbors to Herm and Donna for many years. They were the nicest folks to be found anywhere. We believe their together again in Heaven, which makes things alright. Starr and Dave Barnett 8025 Charnell Court
