Went into rest on April 2, 2017 surrounded by his family. Son of the late Donald and Aileen McGuire. James was born on February 21, 1943 in Clarendon, NY.
Beloved father of Merrie McGuire, Robin Viera, Carol Wegman (Rob), and Teresa Holland (Gary).
Brother of Jack McGuire and Mark McGuire (Nancy) and the late Dan McGuire. Grandpa of eight and great-grandpa of fifteen.
Jim retired from Kodak after thirty years of service. After retirement he worked at Lake Ontario Fruit for six years. He enjoyed bowling, walking, trips to the casino, and watching many sports, family outings, picnics, and camping. He held the high score average in his bowling league of 180-200.
The family will be present on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. to receive friends at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home (HOLLEY) 39 Geddes St., Holley NY 14470. Where a Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m., burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
If desired memorial donations may be made to Wilmot Cancer Center.

Its hard to believe its been almost a year already that you've been gone not a day goes by that you don't cross my mind and I wish more then anything in this world you were still here with us today you were seriously this families rock u had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone I wish we had more time together grandpa I don't think anyone could ever imagine how much you really meant to Kevin and I and we will never forget the love you gave to us you were the best grandfather/dad a girl could've ever asked for you will never be forgotten Logan talks about his papa all the time we all miss you very much I love you gramps and I know your watching over us and keep ing us safe your gonna be a great grandpa again she's gonna know all about the great man you were and ill continue to Leo you in our everyday lives I love you until we meet again

We are so very sorry to hear about Jim's passing. Though we hadn't seen him in many years, we will always remember him as a very kind and gentle man, who loved and took very good care of his family.
