Gary A. French, 68, of Binghamton, NY went to his heavenly home on Monday, April 3, 2017 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He passed peacefully at home in his sleep, surrounded by his wife and all of his children. Gary is survived by his wife of 46 years, Suzanne (Slater) French, son Jeremy French (Molly) and his children Cora, Sabrina, Ethan and Jackson, son Jamie French (Pamela) and his children Allison, Zachary, Tyler and Sydney, daughter Heather Raab (Jason) and her children Nathan, Lincoln, Dylan and Avery, son Justin French and his son Leland, daughter Crystal French and her son Noah, son Jacob French, son Joshua French, daughter Laura French, sister Donna Waitschies (Karl), and brother Gerald "Skip" French (Lavonne), as well as his "adopted" sister and brothers, Judy (Jackson) Coolbaugh, John Jackson, and Bill Jackson. He is also survived by numerous foster children whom he loved and cared for as his own. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald A. French and Ruth (Turk) French, and Gerald's second wife, Fran (Jackson) French. Gary was born in Binghamton, NY and lived in Binghamton, Holland Patent, and Marathon throughout his childhood. He was a graduate of Marathon Central School District and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Cedarville University. He was an avid sports fan and participated in soccer, basketball, baseball, golf and ping pong while in high school, and continued his soccer career in college. He loved spending time with his family and his church friends. Swimming and water-skiing were also a part of many summer gatherings and family vacations with family friends, Bob and Pat Raffensperger. Gary owned and operated rental properties in the Triple Cities for 47 years. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Binghamton for over 45 years, where he sang in the choir and served many years as a Deacon and AWANA leader. He actively emulated his God's love to the world, and leaves behind many who have felt his grace and generosity in their own lives. He will be missed.
