Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm at Higher Ground Baptist Church for Katherine Cox, age 67, of Gadsden. Pastor James O. Wallace will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Kathy went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 with her loved ones gathered around her bedside. Kathy was a loving mother and Nanny who will be dearly missed. She was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church where she worked with nursery school age children. She has faithfully served her Lord with many years of faithfulness of bringing in children to church through the bus ministry and was known to many as Ms. Kathy.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Glenn Cox and parents, Roy and Inez Smith.
She is survived by her children, Michelle (Johnny) Harden; Stephanie (Matthew) Samples. Grandchildren, Justin Vaughn, Colton (Katlin) Harden, Dylan (Holli) Vaughn, Kelsi Harden (Fiancé Kaleb) Rachel Samples, and Savanah Samples. Great grandchildren, Pailsey Howard, Jace Vaughn, John John Howard, Bentley Harden, and Zayne Vaughn. Sister, Jackie Loyd; Brother, Tommy Smith, and serval nieces and nephews. Special friends, Kelly Hulgan and Lindora Vaughn.
Pallbearers will be Justin Vaughn, Colton Harden, Dylan Vaughn, and Alan Harden.
The family wishes to extend a thank you to all who have brought food, prayed, sent kind messages and comforted us during this time. Special thanks to Pastor James O. Wallace and his precious wife Sarah.
Special thanks to Amedysis Hospice of Rainbow City, great appreciation to Jaime, Valerie, Nila, Jay, Misty, Janet, David, Brandi, Susan, Ronnie, Christie, Donna, and also National HME Equipment Co, Justin.
The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday from 12:00 until 2:00pm at Higher Ground Baptist Church prior to service.
