A service of Mass for Zahi Rafidi, 71, will be held today at 12 noon at St. James Catholic Church with burial to follow in Valley of the Dogwoods Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12 noon.
Mr. Rafidi died on April 12, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Palestine on March 9, 1946 to the late Awad and Nimeh Rafidi. He came to the United States in 1972 in search of a better life for him and his family to come. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and he retired from Caterpillar after 24 years of service. He is a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed cooking, playing the Lute, and singing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Abe Rafidi.
He is survived by his three daughters, Rana Starkweather of Ithaca, NY, Alyse Rafidi of Corinth, and Summer Smith and husband Matt of Jonesboro, AR; grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, and Mason Smith; mother of his children, Sonia Rafidi; brother, Naser A. Rafidi of Corinth, and Riad A. Rafidi of Ramallah, Palestine; sisters, Siham Sakran, Raheel Baba, Naneel Kawija all of Houston, TX, Wafa Hsu of Corinth, Asmaham Kashou of Ramallah, Palestine and a host of other family and friends.
