Oakdale-Robert G. Pelchat, age 84, of Oakdale, passed away at Bayview Healthcare in Waterford. He was born on April 8, 1933 in Cranston, RI to the late George and Gladys (Butler) Pelchat. He was married to Rose (Sampaio) Pelchat. She predeceased him.
Robert was a US Navy Korean War Veteran, and a member of the American Legion. He retired after 30 years as a planner for Electric Boat. He enjoyed woodworking and loved being with his children and his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by a daughter Patricia Howard and her husband Robert, a daughter Linda Goodall and her husband Kevin, a daughter Lisa Beckwith and her husband Jonathan, a daughter in law Debbie Pelchat, a brother John and sisters Lee Ann, Dee Dee and Sandra. He also leaves behind grandchildren Christina, Jason, Stefanie, Stacy, Joey, Hilary, Bobby, DJ, Melissa, Matthew and Jonathan as well as great grandchildren Isabella, Maliah, Aubrianna, Sophia, Jacob, Raine, Luca, Rosalie, Jacob and Landon as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son David Pelchat and a sister Dorothy Sampaio.
Family and friends may visit Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, 53 Norwich New London Tpke, Uncasville on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral home service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bayview Healthcare, 301 Rope Ferry Road, Waterford, CT 06385.
