BLOOMINGTON – Donald D. Oxier, 81, of Bloomington, passed away April 11, 2017, at his residence.
Donald was born August 19, 1935, in Springdale, AR, the son of Fred and Hazel (Wolfe) Oxier.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Fritcher Oxier; three daughters, Hazel Hardin of OK; Ronda (Richard) Hodge of Minonk; and Donna (Evan) Leathers of Bloomington; six grandchildren, Matthew (Megan) Leathers; John (Amanda) Fleming; Chance, Taylor, Connor, and Crew Leathers; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Madison; and three brothers.
Donald was an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan. He loved playing the guitar at the Moose every Friday night. He started a Drywall business with his brother Henry. He retired from the business in 2008. He played on a slow pitch softball team for many years. He was a very hard worker and enjoyed spending time with his family.
A celebration of Donald's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice. Online condolences may be shared with the family at eastlawn-bloomington.com.
