BARBARA LOUISE ROBERTSON
February 17, 1929 – April 13, 2017
Barbara Louise Robertson, 88, passed away peacefully Thursday night, at Regency Retirement Village in Huntsville, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Robertson is preceded in death by her parents, Turner Batley and Pearl Wesson Batley; and her loving husband of 64 years, A.M. “Smokey” Robertson.
Left to cherish her precious memory are her two sons, Michael Robertson (Pricilla) of Toney and Al Robertson (Alina) of Woodstock, GA; her brother, Robert Batley of Birmingham; her sister, Janelle Kline of Rockville, MA; three grandchildren, Abby Robertson of Greenville, SC, Miles Robertson of Toney, AL and Megan Robertson of Denver, CO; a host of nieces and nephews; and several other relatives and friends.
“Bobbie”, as most of her friends called her, loved life and family. She liked going shopping, she enjoyed being in her yard tending to her flowers and picking up pinecones. Bobbie and Smokey were very dedicated to the Shriners Organization and the many activities they were involved in. Bobbie Robertson was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her!
Please visit with the Robertson family at Valhalla beginning at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 29, 2017. There will be a Memorial Service officiated by Dr. Bobby Burt, in Valhalla Funeral Home’s chapel commencing at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cahaba Shrine Temple, P. O. My aunt Bobby and uncle A.M. made so many special memories in my childhood possible. Lake Guntersville was always a great time with family. My mother has shared many stories about Bobby growing up in Birmingham. She is very much loved. My deepest sympathies to all of her family and friends.
