Ronald R. Richard, age 83, of Windham, NH, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 in Parkland Medical Center in Derry, New Hampshire. He was the husband of the late Audette (Bishop) Richard.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Arthur J. and Antoinette (Gagne) Richard, he was a longtime resident of Somerset, moving to Windham three years ago. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School class of 1953 and UMass Dartmouth, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War, stationed in Germany and in the National Guard. Mr. Richard worked as a Purchasing Agent for Metropolitan Life, Property and Casualty for twenty-one years, retiring in 1996.

Ronald loved spending time with his family, enjoyed the ocean, military history, classic movies and he took pride in his house and car. He was a long time Eucharistc minister at St. Patrick's Church, Somerset and was a member of the men's club.

He is survived by two sons, Randall R. Richard of Somerset, Mark B. Richard M.D. and his wife Stacy of Hampstead, NH; one daughter, Lisa M. Barnes and her husband Russ of Dunstable, MA; five grandchildren, Elizabeth M., Nicholas M. and Matthew J. Richard, Jacob R. and Hannah E. Barnes and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Paul A. Richard and Vivian C. Camara.

His Funeral will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 8:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at ROSE E. SULLIVAN, 866, County St., Somerset, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00AM in St. Patrick's Church, 306 South St., Somerset. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00 to 8:00PM. So sorry to hear of the passing of your dad, Mark, Randy & Lisa. His obituary mentioned his love of the ocean. We always remember at family gatherings his quiet presence just enjoying the event. But he was always interested to hear any news of Cape Cod: fishing vessels that had trouble in winter waters, shark or whale sittings, photos of tall ships and eventually Stephs ship that sailed through the canal, unusual ocean freezes....You just knew his appreciation & joy of being able to live by the water himself for many years.
