Josephine Morrison, age 100, was born to the late Jan and Katherine Ciupa on October 27, 1917 in Muskegon and later adopted by the late Peter and Ella Reinoldt of Ashland Twp.in Newaygo County. Josephine passed away peacefully at home on April 17, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was married to the late Paul E. Morrison on November 27, 1935 and lived in Muskegon most of her life. She is survived by her children Karen Smith, Deborah (Bradley) Hyde, Paul J. (Carol) Morrison, son- in- law James L. Neel, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, daughter, Betty S. Neel, son- in- law Charles E. Smith, two brothers Steven (Helen) Tenczar and Clarence (Lois) Fortuin, four sisters Julia Mell, Wanda(Doug) White, Helen(Chester)Downs and Jenny Clupa and special friend Art Forester. A homemaker and volunteer all of her life, Jo was a Gray Lady with the Muskegon Red Cross, a volunteer with Meal on Wheels in Lewiston Idaho, volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Lakeland Hospital in Lakeland, FL and worked with the Girl Scouts and Muscular Dystrophy in her earlier years. Josephine enjoyed talking on the phone to her many friends and family and brightened their days with her antics and good humor. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tom and Mary Sanocki and their Polka Melodies Radio Show for the many years of enjoyment they brought her. And to Bridgette Sigler, Wendy Noyes and Emma Tjapkes for the compassionate care and fun times they gave her during her journey. Also, Great Lakes Hospice for providing such amazing care and being there for the family throughout the entire process. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00a.m at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel with Rev. Mark Miller and Rev. Sandra Harryman officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral Home. Burial will take place at the Laketon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paul and Josephine Morrison Memorial Education Scholarship Fund.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember spinning around and around in your living room until we fell down laughing hysterically. Your mother was laughing as hard as we were. Fond memories.....hold on to them.
