WILKERSON, Vernise Granger, 84, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. She was born in Malone, Florida to the late James Bryant and Sadie Aileen Baxter. Vernise enjoyed the simple pleasure of spending time with her family and reading her bible. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend who gave of herself sacrificially in any way she possibly could. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing our mother, Miss Vernise was truly blessed. Predeceased by her late husbands, Bobby Granger and Carl Wilkerson; brothers, James Earl, Mac Wayne; sister, Louise Howell; son-in-law, Wayne. She is survived by her son, Joe and his wife, Dawn; daughter, Linda; four grandchildren, Jamie and her husband, Carl, Justin and his wife, Naomi, Joey, Bryant, three great-grandchildren, Micah, Teagan, Shiloh; two brothers, M.D. and his wife, Pearl, Leon and his wife Sara; many other loving family and friends. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.
