Cora Jean Tyrrell, age 88, of Spring, passed away on April 18, 2017 to be with Our Lord. Cora Jean was the beloved wife of Richard (deceased) for 56 years. Cora Jean is survived by her sons William C. Tyrrell and wife Kathleen of Orchard Park, NY; Edward L Tyrrell and wife Candice of Spring, TX; James R. Tyrrell and wife Joann of Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren, Matthew Tyrrell and wife Sarah of Washington DC, Jordan, Jami and Jenna Tyrrell of Philadelphia, PA, and one great grandchild, Oliver of Washington, D.C.
Cora Jean was born in Forty Fort, PA and resided in Williamsville and Cheektowoga, New York for over 40 years, before moving with her husband, Richard, to Clear Lake, Texas, 22 years ago. Cora Jean was a registered nurse and graduate of Nesbitt Memorial Hospital School of Nursing (1949) and Sister Elizabeth Kenny Foundation as a graduate therapist (1952). Cora Jean worked as a therapist for Sister Hospital of Buffalo before leaving to raise her family. Cora Jean volunteered at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, where she received a 15 year service award. Cora Jean was the world's best mother, a master home maker and the CEO of the Tyrrell home. While living at the Village of Gleannloch Farms for the last seven years Cora Jean regularly attended Sunday church services.
A Memorial Service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Buffalo, NY to be determined at a later date where Cora Jean and Richard first met at a singles group (Fireside). In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Cora Jean Tyrrell's honor to Houston Methodist Hospital to support Neurological research at 8100 Greenbriar, GB2-40, Houston, Texas 77054.
