LaVonn's kindness and warmth could fill a room; and long after she'd left it, her love and genuine spirit still radiated within its walls -- that was, and still IS, the gift she's left with all of us. In the 25 years that I knew LaVonn, I was in awe of how she moved thru life, constantly smiling, laughing, and finding goodness in everyone! When our daughter was born in '93, she brought over a beautiful Hallmark Christmas ornament for 'Baby's 1st Christmas'; and each year, we remember LaVonn's sweetness as we hang the special ornament. As the years passed, and our baby grew-up, our love for LaVonn grew too. I'll always treasure that ornament and it'll one day be on our daughter's Christmas tree, and SHE'LL continue to fondly remember our 'pretty, smiling neighbor that baked the best pecan pies and who introduced her to chocolate-covered potato chips,' the vice that got her thru her college days!
My family and I are forever blessed for having known such a fine southern lady whose grace will continue to inspire us! Until we meet her again, we'll continue to remember LaVonn's pretty smile; the twinkle in her eyes; and the cute way she laughed, as she scrunched her nose and raised her shoulders as she felt happiness all the way to her soul. (I'm smiling, even now, just thinking of her!) But most of all, we'll remember how intensely LaVonn loved her family and how she cherished Bernie and 'their girls.'
We're all better for having known and loved LaVonn; and now, Heaven is better for having her there too!
