Hildred Pittman Smith, age 80, of Smyrna, died Saturday, April 22, 2017. Funeral service is Monday, April 24 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw beginning at 2pm. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family prior to the service beginning at 12pm.
A native of McCaysville, GA, Hildred worked for Georgia Power and retired after 35 years of service. She enjoyed providing a loving home for her family and cooking for those family get together's. Once Hildred and her husband James became grandparents to Lacy and Hailey, they became the apples of her eye. She enjoyed watching their ball games every chance she had.
Hildred leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her husband of fifty years James E. Smith, daughter – Cynthia Wade, granddaughters – Lacy Wade and Hailey Spitulski (Stephen), brother – Donald Pittman, and her sisters – Shirley Barnes, Barbara Loudermilk, and Regina Franklin. She was preceded in death by her parents – Claude and Duane Pittman, brothers – Bill Pittman and Charles Pittman, and sister – Carol Sue Stiles.
In lieu of customary remembrances, donations may be made in Hildred's memory to Agape Hospice Care at 1395 S. Marietta Parkway Bldg 750 Suite 730 Marietta, GA 30067 or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or stjude.org.
