On Friday, April 21st 2017 Nora Mowery went with the Lord at the age of 96.
Born July 25th, 1920 in Greenup County, KY to the late Adam and Cauzetta Allen.
Nora was a school teacher who began her career Sand Springs, OK. She then taught in Fort Thomas, KY and finally retired after teaching in Fort Pierce, FL.
In addition she served in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) of the US Army from June 1943 to December 1945.
Preceding her is her husband Eugene McPhail and daughter Jeannie Kaye Asbury (McPhail).
She is survived by her grandson Kevin Asbury of Louisville, KY; and loving son-in-law Lee Asbury of Spartanburg, SC.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 2nd, 11:00AM for friends and family at Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY. Funeral services will follow at 1:00PM followed by burial at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, KY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nora's name to The Humane Society.
