Maxine C. Willmuth, passed away peacefully at the age of 83, on April 24, 2017.

Born in Stone County, Arkansas to parents, Dee Collins and Willie Boston Collins on January 23, 1934, she and her mother traveled around the country to follow her father's construction job. Eventually, Maxine grew up and settled in Batesville, then settled in central Arkansas in her later years.

Maxine was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald R. Bishop, her second husband, Charles S. Willmuth, one daughter, Cynthia Ann Bishop, and one son, James Russell Bishop.

Survivors include her daughter, Amanda Willmuth (Scott), one grandson, Jon Willmuth "Will" Farquhar, a granddaughter, Stacy Michelle Evans (Craig), two great-granddaughters, Brooklyn Alexis Evans and Piper Layne Evans, and daughter-in-law, Cindy Bishop.

Maxine enjoyed playing golf and being outside. She enjoyed spending time boating on Greers Ferry Lake when her kids were younger and was the 1957 State Champion in Archery. She loved animals, especially cats, and loved to cook, making the best “Blueberry Tart" in town. She was also member and officer in Beta Sigma Phi for many years.

A huge thank you goes to the staff and caregivers at Briarwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hospice Home Care and Dr. Pippenger's staff at UAMS Longevity Clinic for their kind and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any Arkansas Animal Rescue or shelter and/or the Arkansas Alzheimer's Society.

A Gathering of Remembrance will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Milford-Track, (Searcy Building) 10809 Executive Center Drive, Plaza 2, Little Rock.
