Franklin S. Dobson, 78, died on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from smoke inhalation caused by a fire at his residence in Annapolis, MD.
Frank was born April 26, 1938 in Annapolis, Maryland and was a lifelong area resident and an alumni of Severn School. He attended the Naval Academy before transferring to University of Maryland, where he played lacrosse. He owned and operated “Mr. Bush Garden Center” for many years where friends frequently visited to enjoy the constant entertainment.
He is survived by his sister, Joan Whiteley, his nephews Scotty, Tommy and Andy Whiteley and his grandnieces Ashley and Alex Whiteley.
Frank was well known for his incredible, humorous personality and liked by many people. He truly saw the good in every person and his home was always open for anyone that wanted to come by to visit, have a drink, or to be given a nickname. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. His stories will be passed on for many years to come as he was a true legend amongst friends.
There will be a “Celebration of Life” for Frank announced in the near future and all friends are encouraged to come.

I was a classmate of Frank at Severn in '56 and '57. I remember Frank best for that time as a truly great guy with a fantastic attitude towards life and his buddies, and knew his sister, Joan too----a wonderful Family. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

Oh dear Frankie, Doug and I will miss you beyond words. For us and I'm sure innumerable others the & end of an era; has arrived with your passing, no doubt about it. Few people have given so much joy to so many friends in their lifetime as you did. Frankie, thank you for nearly a century of fun, deep friendship, generosity, and all the good times that seem to follow you around. Doug is enroute to meet his daughters in Phoenix (something planned long ago) and is so upset that he can't be at your memorial service, but is sure you knew, and still know, that you will always be with us in heart and spirit - and all those wonderful memories.

Dear Joanie and boys, So very sorry for your loss. Frank was a friend of mine for many years and as we all know was quite a character. When I had family visiting at Xmas some years ago and the nursery was still open they could not get over the bar there and the fun time of picking out a tree. You definitely captured his essence in his obituary. He had so many friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
