Michael Rabasco Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 26, 2017.

Michael Frank Rabasco, age 53, passed away on April 24, 2017. Mike was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised by his grandparents, Michael and Mafalda Rabasco, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Mike is survived by the love of his life and soul mate, Anne. Mike and Anne were inseparable: they enjoyed spending time together first and foremost, and made it a priority to attend family events and to travel. Mike is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Maria and Art James, Marilyn and Ralph Rabasco, cousins, nieces, nephews and several in-laws. Mike was an enthusiast of history, music and sports, and collector of memorabilia. He was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Mets. Mike was an exceptionally kind man. He was always generous with his time and helped anyone who needed it. As a young man, Mike served in the Army. He will be missed and forever remembered. A memorial service will be held at a private location in Escondido on Monday, May 1, 2017 (contact McLeod Mortuary for details). Please go to the McLeod Mortuary website and post your memories, thoughts and words of condolences.

This photo of Michael makes me smile. It was taken at my wedding with Michael as Usher. One of the happiest days of my life. Michael was the definition of a gentle giant. He cared deeply for his family. From the moment I met him I knew he was special. I will always remember his love of reading. Every time he saw my kids he gave them books instead of toys. Michael is gone way too soon. My husband, kids and I will miss him more than words can say.

My sincerest condolences to Michael's friends and family. I spent many afternoons talking sports and music with Michael, and it was always informative and entertaining. I will remember him well, always.

Mike was my cousin, my de facto brother, and a great guy. When he lived in Minnesota, and I was dating my wife, we spent a lot of time together. He loved to talk about sports and music. It was Mike that inspired me to lift weights competitively, as he once did. In fact, I still have his old weight belt. I will miss him very much.

One of the kindest men I've ever had the privilege of knowing. Mike and Annie were meant to be together and I am sure they will unite in the afterlife.

I am lost for words with the news of the passing of Michael. He was my nephew and I was his godmother. I didn't see Micheal when he was young but we got together in Connecticut. I wish I had more time with Micheal. He is a kind and generous human being. I know he is at rest and with his beloved grandparents Frank and Malfada. I know I will see him again. Love Always Aunt Sue

I am so saddened to hear about Mike's passing. We worked together in Minnesota and he was so kind and caring. My father was also born in Brooklyn and we shared a lot of New York stories. I never met Anne but he spoke of you often and you could see the love. So sorry to hear about Mike. Prayers to you and your family.
