Gary was born October 13, 1964 in Fort Worth, Texas to James W. Chappell Sr. and Maudine Chappell. He overcame the obstacles in his life, navigating each turn with his love. In his youth, Gary was an avid bowler, played baseball, a member of the Boy Scouts, and participated in the Special Olympics. His big love was watching Texas Longhorn’s games and attending NHRA drag races with his brothers. Gary’s favorite driver was John Force, who he personally met and admired. He had a special light that shone from within and a heart bigger than Texas. Gary loved everyone he met and will be missed by all who knew him.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

Gary Glenn Chappell is the best man that I have ever met. His love and compassion were genuine. He forgave others and sought peace regardless of the circumstance. His concerns were always about the welfare of his loved ones; never himself. My Uncle Gary was a Man of G-D. He confessed JESUS CHRIST as his LORD and Savior; I know that man is in heaven. But I miss him so much. How I wish that we could play a game of pool tonight. He was Jackie Gleason and I was Paul Newman. I will cherish those memories until we meet again, Jackie. The mold was broken after our FATHER made my Uncle Gary.
