Anita Elaine Wappel, 76, of Euless, Texas passed from her earthly life on Saturday, April 29, 2017. She was born June 18, 1940 to Frank Joseph Wappel and Alice Evelyn (Lakin) Wappel in the family home in Medaryville, IN where she spent her adolescent life. She graduated from Medaryville High School in 1958, and went on to airline school in Chicago.
She was employed by Pan American World Airways in Chicago as a teletypist, then American Airlines as Reservations Manager at DFW for 34 years. She enjoyed traveling, dining out, investing, and keeping a meticulous home. She was a very deliberate and intentional person, with every aspect of her life planned with purpose.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Frank (1992) and Alice (2001) Wappel; dear friend, L. Lynne Stevens (2005); and infant brother Franklin, Jr. (1939).
She is survived by Lynne’s daughter, Jessica Stevens (Mostafa Jbire) of Indianapolis, IN; best friend, Pearl (Ralph) Bradley of Hurst, TX; brothers Donald J. (Marilyn Miller) Wappel of Kokomo, IN; John R. (Vy Dinh) Wappel of Surprise, AZ; Rodger F. (Kathleen Patterson) Wappel of Medaryville, IN; Richard V. (Janice Simmons) Wappel of Sun City, AZ; sister Patrice S. (Irvine “Decker” Williams) Wappel of Phoenix, AZ; and Lynne’s grandchildren Hamza, FatemaZahra, and Noura (Jbire).
There will be a gathering to celebrate Anita’s life on Wednesday, May 10th at J.E. Foust Funeral Home, 523 South Main Street, Grapevine, TX at 11:00 am. www.dignitymemorial.com

Anita was a dear friend for 58 years. Beginning with our time together at Pan Am. We traveled to Mexico and remained friends as our life continued. She was a special person and will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace.
