Vera Mae Hanks was born in Rankin, Texas. She had been employed as a salesperson at the Wynnewood Village Shopping Center, in the fabric store, Toy World and then Susanne’s Clothing store.She loved to cook for her family, remember those Sunday Dinners!!! Vera was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Oak Cliff.She was predeceased by her parents, Kern and Ruth Gray; husband, Charles E. Hanks; several brothers; and granddaughter; Angie Turner-Ramsey.She is survived by her daughter, Diane Turner and husband Chuck; sons, Larry and wife, Yvonne, and their son, Scott and wife, Leslie; EJ and Rickey and wife Jackie, and their daughter, Ashley and her husband, John and their children, Jack, Ford, and Ella; and sisters, Louise Nichols and Betty Rainwater and other relatives and friends that will greatly missed Vera.
