Mrs. Norma Geraldine “Gerry” Oliver, age 84 of Griffin, Georgia passed away May 6, 2017. She was born in Hampton, Georgia to the late Troy N. and Harriett Florine Campbell Conkle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayward Lorenza Oliver, a son, Waymon Gregory Gower and siblings, Ellis Conkle and Glenda Conkle Price. Gerry retired from Delta Airlines and was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. She loved to spend time with her family, grandchildren and church friends. She enjoyed traveling, the beach, church outings, working in the yard and flowers. She also loved her nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Survivors include her son, Gary Gower of Griffin; daughter in law, Kathy Gower of Sharpsburg; grandchildren, Genevie Gower, Grant Gower and Gary Gower, Jr.; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 – 11:00 AM at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Chuck Conkle will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit the family Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisten Funeral Home of McDonough, (770.914.8833).
