Jimmy Sherman Eidson, 81, passed away on April 30, 2017 at his home in Apache Junction Arizona. He was surrounded by his loved ones as he passed peacefully from this world to the next. Jimmy was born on January 11,1936 in Whitehouse, Tennessee where he would later graduate high school. He then proudly served his country for three years in the United States Marine Corps. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, Jimmy attended Fall's Business College where he met Hazel Miller in September of 1957, and proposed to her in May of 1958. Over the course of 10 years, they had 4 children together: Glenda, Sherry, Kaye and Faye. Unfortunately, due to a tragic car accident, baby Faye went to Heaven at just 12 months old. In May of 1969, they chose to move to Arizona where Jimmy and Hazel would go on to open multiple businesses including a used car business, a beauty salon, and an import sales store. Jimmy also served his community by holding a position on the city council for many years, even serving as Vice Mayor from 1984 to 1990. Anyone who knew Jimmy knew that he was also a man of God. He was actively involved in the Baptist church serving as both a Deacon and Chairman of the Deacon for many years of his life. Jimmy was also an avid outdoorsman and he passed extensive knowledge and wisdom on to his grandchildren regarding wildlife and the beauty of the outdoors that will stick with them for many years to come. Jimmy Sherman Eidson lived a long and happy life. His actions and character throughout his life speak volumes about what kind of man he was. He is survived by his wife Hazel, his brothers Billy and Bobby, his sister Shirley, his children Glenda, Sherry, and Kaye, his grandchildren Josh, David, Kyle, Lacey, Rikki and Taylor, and his great grandchildren Cayden, Cain and Nick. Jimmy was loved widely and respected by many. He will be greatly missed, but we know he is in Heaven with Baby Faye, and we welcome the day we will be reunited with him again.
