Betty J. McCandless, 85 a sixty plus years resident of Beaumont passed away on Wednesday May 10, 2017. Betty was born in Anson, Texas on Wednesday December 2, 1931 to her parents William Goodwin and Alma Snell Goodwin who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband Kenneth G. McCandless, two sons, Alvin Eugene McCandless, Ronald Jay McCandless, two sisters, Mary Roberts and Grace Beauchamp.
Betty was a Baptist by faith and attended Rosedale Baptist and also was a homemaker who enjoyed playing all kinds of games, going to area garage sales, listening to gospel music, and especially loved being with all her grandkids.
She is survived by her son, Randy McCandless and wife Sarah of Port Arthur, five grandchildren, Julie McCandless Giese and husband Matthew, Justin McCandless and wife Carman, Josh McCandless and wife Amy, Jessica McCandless, Danielle McCandless, four great grandchildren, Mollie Giese, Ava McCandless, Conner Terrell, and Caroline McCandless.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service time of 10:00 a.m. on Saturday May 13, 2017 at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.

You were the best mother in law anyone could ever have. If I needed a baby sitter, a dog sitter, a garage sale partner or just a friend to laugh with, you were always there. I will never forget you and I will see you again in God's heaven. I love you.

We are very sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a very kind and loving person. When we married, we lived very close to her and Ken on Crow Road. Ken & BJ worked together at Dowell at that time. The 4 of us played many games of canasta on Saturday and Sunday afternoons if BJ and Ken were not working.
