Carol Kober LeBlanc passed away on May 8, 2017 due to complications from surgery. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Kober and Cecile Weber Kober. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen (Kay) Daverede and brother, Frederick (Ricky) Kober. Carol is also survived by her brother-in-law, Harold Farley and her sister-in-law, Sharon Kober. Nephews include Paul Daverede, Frederick (Chuck) Kober, and Terry Kober. Their wives are Janelle, Nicole, and Jamie. The children in the family, whom she deeply loved and enjoyed spending time with are Alexandra (Alex) and Paul Daverede III, Christina, Leena and Frederick Kober, and Samantha and Michael Kober.
Carol was a native of Kenner, La, and moved to Baton Rouge, La, after Katrina. Carol was a teacher at Hazel Park School in River Ridge, La for over 30 years. She was deeply loved by all of her peers at Hazel Park, but most importantly by her students over the years. This was evidenced by former students over the years expressing their love and gratitude when seeing Carol. Carol loved her life, and was always smiling and laughing. Carol loved going on cruises, and was able to go on a cruise with her good friend, Barbara Cottrell, before she went in for surgery. It was stated by her primary physician that she always brightened his day when she came in for her appointments. Her positive attitude also was evident in all her relationships with family and friends. Carol was deeply loved by her family, and her passing has created a void in our lives that may never be filled.
Services will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. The family will have quiet time from 9:30 am until 10:00 am. I had the great privilege of being in AOPi Sorority with Carol for 4 years at Southeastern University. She was the sweetest and most loving and caring person and dedicated member to her "sisters". I would run into Carol often in Kenner and it was always a joy catching up and reminiscing.
My prayers are with her family. I'm sorry I wasn't able to attend her memorial service.
God will be smiling when he hears her great laugh and sees her beautiful smile in person.
