Nancy Louise LaFrankie, 85, of Apex, formerly of Elizabeth, PA, Moorestown, NJ and Williamsburg, VA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a long, beautiful life, on Friday, May 12, 2017.
Nancy was born January 9, 1932 in Elizabeth, PA to her loving parents, Clarence Vincent and Regina McClure Wiegel. She was the loving wife to her husband of 55 years, James Vincent LaFrankie, Sr.
Nancy was a generous and wonderful person. A devout Catholic and servant to her faith and church. An avid golfer and a lover of life. She traveled the world with her husband and was a gold standard for mothers. She navigated the 60's and 70's with seven children…no small feat. A fantastic cook and a woman who knew how to enjoy a good "happy hour."
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and her one younger brother, Clarence "Buzz" Wiegel, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Terence (Debi), James Jr. (Paulina), Jane Overbeck, Donna (Ken Ambrose), Kenneth (Robin), Mark (Traci), and William (Frances); a sister-in-law, Rose Wiegel; and 16 loving grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2017 at Apex Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2017 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary. Burial will follow at Wake Memorial Park in Cary.

I just realized that Nancy passed away recently. I would like to offer my sympathy to all of her children. I have many wonderful memories of your Mom & Dad. We went on many great trips for American Waterworks. She was always so much fun to be with. We also spent many good nights in Avalon on the deck. I think of both of them often with love. You are all in my thoughts & prayers.
