BLOOMINGTON -- Irma Mae Neuhaus Thompson 84, of Bloomington passed away on May 11, 2017 at the McLean County Nursing Home. Irma was born on August 5, 1932 in Pekin, IL. Her parents, Gilbert and Anna Neuhaus both preceded her in death. Irma married James Norman Thompson on January 19, 1951 and he preceded Irma in death.
Irma is survived by her daughters Jo (Don) Denniston of Bloomington, Valerie (Jim) Perley of Franklin, TN, and Cynthia "Cindy" (Chris) Sloan of Fort Worth, TX.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Adam (Nicole) Denniston of Charlottesville, VA, Erin Perley of Franklin, TN, Jesse and Elisabeth Sloan of Dallas, TX.
Irma is also survived by one great grandchild, Lola Denniston and one sister Rosemary Halverson of Pekin, IL.
Irma enjoyed gardening, cooking, drawing and painting and was a loving mother and wife. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Normal.
Visitation will be on Tuesday May 16, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday May 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM also at East Lawn Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to First Assembly of God Youth Camp Scholarship Fund.
