Betty Jean Eichhorn, passed away on May 12, 2017 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Betty was a resident at River Terrace Estates in Bluffton since March 28, 2013. She was born on February 5, 1926 in Allen County to Simon Peter and Lottie Grace (Van Meter) Ambler. She married Charles Junior Eichhorn on April 3, 1948. Junior passed May 20, 2016 at River Terrace Estates. She was a long time member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Uniondale. Betty was dedicated to Junior, their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was content to help with farming, mowing, cooking hearty meals of noodles, beef roast, fried chicken, and all the trimmings for the family, friends, and neighbors. Everyone was welcome to eat! Surviving family include her children, Phil Eichhorn of rural Uniondale, Brenda (Ervin) Glass of Fort Wayne, Judy Arnold of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Kevin (Alicia) Arnold, Angela (Scott) Blinkiewicz, Shannon (Brent Lang) Glass, Heather Thompson; nine great grandchildren; and special pal, Brownie. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in passing by her son, Larry Eichhorn; grandson, Glen Geier; great granddaughter, Gianna Blinkiewicz; and a brother, Floyd Ambler. Funeral service will be 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Uniondale or Visiting Nurse.

God bless Betty as she joins Junior. I am so sorry for the family's loss. Betty and Junior were ifetime friends of my parents, I have many happy memories as a child visiting the family farm. Judy, Brenda and Phillip, praying for your peace and comfort. Love, Susie Botts.
