James Marvin "Jim" McGill, 87 of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017.
Jim was born to James and Audrey (Wilbanks) McGill on April 3, 1930, in Ashland, Mississippi. He passed away May 15, 2017, at Huntsville Hospital here in Huntsville after a 4 month illness. He was 87 years old.
On December 17, 1951, he was married to Elladene (Alexander) McGill in Alabama. They lived most of their lives in Huntsville, Alabama. They were married 65 years.
Jim retired in January 2015 as a Schaeffer Oil Distributor and Sales Representative. Jim loved his customers.
Jim served in the army in Vietnam and retired October 31, 1968 out of Redstone Arsenal after 20 years of service. He was an active church member until failing health prevented his participation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Audrey.
Survivors include two sons: Bruce McGill, Tim McGill and his wife Janice, one daughter Sleida Viramontes and her husband Michael, 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Two brothers: Gary and his wife Jamie. Arnold and his wife Paulette, 3 sisters: Mary Evelin, Ouida, Sue and her husband Floyd. And numerous Nephews, Nieces, Great Nephews and Great Nieces.
Visitation will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm in Valhalla's Chapel. Entombment will immediately follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to specialops.org in honor of Jim.
