I always called my Uncle Norman Uncle Chock. That was the nickname he was given because he loved the drink, Chocolate Soldier, when he was young. Other than my mother, Uncle Chock was the strongest link I had to to my father (his brother) JC Kilgore. He was killed in France in WW II when I was 15 mos old. Chock kept his memory alive for me as I was growing up and helped me feel I was part of the Kilgore family and I always loved him for that. I know that his love and caring have been extended to many others over his lifetime as well. I will always love him and I will certainly miss him, and I know he is still watching out for me.

Mr. Norman will always be one of the brightest inspirations for our Listening and Learning Children's Library in Deport, Texas. His sweet hand of 90 will forever be placed upon our wall. The children of Deport as well as myself were blessed to know this very kind spirit. Prayers for comfort.
