Mary Ann McKinney Frazier died on Saturday, May 13, 2017 after a courageous fight with melanoma cancer. She was born in Atlanta, GA, raised in Lookout Mountain, TN and lived her adult life in Atlanta.
Mary Ann was born on June 14, 1945 to the late Mary Irby McKinney and the late Virgil Weyman McKinney, Jr. She attended Girls Preparatory School and graduated from the Fairfax Hall School in Virginia. Mary Ann was a member of The Cathedral of St. Philip, The Mimosa Garden Club and the Junior League of Atlanta.
The great love for her family was a very meaningful part of her life. She truly loved her favorite activities such as working in her garden, playing bridge with friends, and being with her granddaughters, Francie and Eliza. Annual trips at Christmas to Harbour Island in the Bahamas brought great delight to her and her children and granddaughters. She was predeceased by her husband, French B. Frazier, Jr. who died on January 22, 2012.
Mary Ann is survived by her son, French B. Frazier, III, his wife, Anne, and their daughters Francie and Eliza Frazier of St. Simons Island, GA, her daughter, Mary Weyman Frazier of Atlanta, GA., her sisters, Neal Oehmig (Brit) and Susan Davenport (Joe), both of Lookout Mountain, TN. and her brother-in- law Charley Frazier of Lookout Mountain, TN.
Special thanks to Mary Ann's caregivers, Melissa Powell and Cathy Carter for their excellent and loving care given to Mary Ann. Also a special thanks to Mary Ann's friends, including Wallace Marsh and Cathy Zappa, who have loved and supported her throughout her illness.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at The Cathedral of St. Philip at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. C. Wallace Marsh, IV officiating. The internment will immediately follow the service in the Cathedral Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, GA 30319 or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
