Yolanda Smith Roberts, 83, of Dunbar got her angel wings May 15, 2017.
Yolanda was a 1951 graduate of Dunbar High School and attended classes at Morris Harvey, where she met her husband Okey. She went to work in 1951 at Bank of Dunbar, now United Bank. After 52 years, of dependable and faithful service, she retired in 2003 at age 70. During this time she established a loving and comfortable home for her family. She was a lifelong member of the former Humphrey’s Methodist Church, now Dunbar United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Dunbar, and a member of the Senior Exercise Class at South Charleston Recreation Center.
Preceded in death by parents, Dewey and Mary Smith; sisters, Jane Mikell Moses, and Doris Harrah.
Left to cherish her memory are husband of 62 years, Okey G. Roberts; daughter, Susan Blackhurst (Don) all of Dunbar; son, Stephen Roberts (Gina) of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Linsey Foster (David), David Blackhurst (Katie), Jacqueline Roberts, and Jordan Roberts; great-grandchildren, Camron Foster, Gracelyn Blackhurst, and Isabell Shamblin.
Graveside service will be 2:00pm Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes with H.R. Whittington officiating.
