David W. Pye 68, of Glasford, IL passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on May 15, 2017.


David was born to Warner William Pye Jr. and Virginia Rose (Helms) Pye on September 24, 1948 in Glasford, IL.

Throughout his lifetime he loved being outside on the family farm, spending time with friends and family. He married the love of his life, Donna (Bricker) Pye on March 5, 1975 in Mapleton, IL.

David worked at the Pekin Paper Board Mill as a paper mill operator and was also the head of safety, retiring in 2009. He also enjoyed volunteering for the Peoria County Sheriff Pose, was the Code Enforcement Officer for Glasford and Mapleton, as well as the security officer at Hollis Park District.

David is survived by two sisters Sandy (Don) Smith of Glasford IL, Lori Benfield of Glasford IL; Nieces Barbara (Mike) Piazza of Carol Stream IL, Sarah (Kelly) Capps of Hopedale IL; Nephews Jeff Smith of Glasford IL, and Shannon Benfield of Farmington IL; Great nieces Clarice Capps of Hopedale IL, Kelsey Capps of Peoria IL, Danica Capps of Hopedale IL, Ryleigh Benfield of Peoria IL; Great nephew Wyatt Benfield of Hopedale IL and many more cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as his loving Beagle Blaze.

David is preceded in death by one sister Cheri Davis his parents Warner and Virginia Pye and his wife Donna Pye "Bricker".

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 10, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 9701 S. Trivoli Road in Glasford. Please bring a covered dish to share & lawn chairs, as we'll hold it outside.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help for the funeral arrangements.
