Charles Edward "Chuck" Bollig, 94, of LaSalle, died May 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. One of eleven children, 4 sisters and 6 brothers, he was born April 27, 1923 in Hardin, Colorado to John Anthony and Mary Catherine (Dreher) Bollig. Chuck grew up in the LaSalle area where his family farmed. After high school, he worked for Union Pacific Railroad in LaSalle as a gandy dancer, repairing tracks. He started working in carpentry at the age of 17. Chuck entered into the U.S. Navy during WWII serving in the South Pacific Theater. After his discharge, he returned to LaSalle and established Bollig/Kramer contracting. He was a master carpenter/contract, building homes. He built 98 houses on the "hill" in LaSalle, and countless others around Weld County with his friend and partner, Willie Kramer. Chuck married Delores Claire Carstens on September 9, 1950 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Platteville. She died February 19, 2013.

He was a member of Adamson-Warmuth Post No. 6624, VFW and the LaSalle Eagles Aerie 3519, LaSalle where he was very active.

Chuck loved fast pitch softball and was a member of the Johnstown Juds and numerous other teams, as a pitcher, where they won state championships. They participated in many national and world softball championship games, including several world tournaments. He was an avid Broncos fan having season tickets from 1962 – present and also a Colorado Rockies fan. His passion was his family and watching all the children's sports activities. Above all was his love and devotion to his family.

He is survived by his daughters Maureen Fuller (Steve) of Evans, Patty Hagerman (Mark) of Thornton; sons Ken Bollig (Debbie) of LaSalle, John Bollig (Theresa Taylor) of LaSalle and Randy Bollig of Kobe, Japan; 4 Grandchildren Craig Bollig (Liberty) of Greeley, Mike Hergenreder (Joan) of Lincoln, Nebraska, Tiffany Hagerman of Denver, and Christy Hagerman of Denver; 4 great grandchildren Marek, Landri, Chasity and Gerome; a sister-in-law Velma Walrath of Greeley and a brother-in-law Ron Cartens (Kathy) of Greeley and numerous nieces and nephews. His wife, parents and 10 siblings preceded him in death.

Chuck and Delores, his bride of 62 years, will be laid together at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017.

I don't have to tell what a special man Chuck was, I meant him as child, as he built homes in Evans, he always had a smile on his face. Who would know how he and his family would impact our lives on Central Street the way they have. May God wrap each of you tight in his arms and our prayers send you hope. Mo, Patti, Mike, Tiffany, and family I'm truly sorry for your loss. Love, Shauna Tucker (Keever)
