David N. Bowman, 56, of Keene, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 14, 2017 with family by his side.
He was born February 25, 1961 in New Brunswick, NJ, the son of Marion (Mitchell) and Eugene V. Bowman. He attended area schools where he was a star on the high school track team from a young age. He furthered his education at Keene State College where he received his Bachelor's in Accounting. David also proudly served his Country in the Marine Corps.
He spent many years in the accounting departments of both C&S and United Natural Foods. In most recent years, he was the CFO of Northwest Digital and Wireless, Inc. and the Director of Finance at Bradford Industries.
As an avid outdoorsman, David could always be found outside. He recently started competing in half marathons and triathlons, where he had several strong finishes. He loved to run, hike, swim, and play tennis, but his biggest love was skiing. Waterville Valley was his favorite place in the world. He could be found racing friends down his favorite trails; True Grit, Gemma, and Lower Bobby's Run or warming up in the Schewendi Hut with a cup of hot coffee. He also had a passion for cooking and took classes with Nicola to sharpen his kitchen skills.
David had a vivacious personality and a sense of humor that will be missed by all. He had a big heart, and his family is grateful for the kind and caring man he was and would like to share the continued life David was able to bring with his sudden passing. "Through death there is life," his gift of organ donation has already made an impact on other's lives. His liver and both kidneys have found recipients, and saved the lives of 3 people.
David will be greatly missed by his daughter: Cali Bowman and her significant other Scott Orlinski of Camden, SC; mother: Marion Bowman of Keene; Sisters: Karen Luebkeman and her husband Jeff of Marlborough, Pamela Jenkins and her husband Allen of Westmoreland, and Susan Rolke and her husband Kevin McCormick of Fitzwilliam; brother: Van Bowman and his significant other Yvette Wall of West Chesterfield, NH. He is also survived by Robin Bowman of Chelmsford, MA, Maura McGarry of Quincy, MA, and many friends, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
He was predeceased by his first wife Nancy (Durant) Bowman and daughter Crystal Bowman in September of 1981, and father Eugene V. Bowman in May of 2016.
Services will be held Friday, May 19 at 4:00 pm at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The David Bowman Memorial Fund. All proceeds will go towards a memorial at Waterville Valley, David's most loved place. Please make checks payable to David Bowman Memorial Fund, c/o Savings Bank of Walpole, 84 Marlboro St, PO Box 744, Keene, NH 03431.

My deepest sympathies to David's family. The strength shown today by Kali, Maura and Robin in their beautiful tributes to David was truly admirable. It was always clear that Kali was the light of David's life. May you find comfort in your memories.

Tony DuBois here...I was no stranger to the Bowman family-taught 3 of them in junior English-Karen, Eugene Van,and David! Loved them all-I knew that they came from a wonderful family!
I had worked at Masiello Real Estate part time-and low and behold David came on board. It was a joy and a privilege to work w/him and get to know him better.
People simply do not come better than David.
I mourn his loss and I will be praying for his family.
PEACE,
TD
