Carl D. Price, 89, of Bloomington, IN passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017. He was born May 4, 1928 in Bloomington, IN the son of the late Allan and Essie Price.
Carl graduated from BHS in 1947, and completed one year of college at IU. He then assisted his father as an electrician at Price Electric. He served his country in the Air Force for four years during the Korean War, achieving the rank of S/Sgt. He then returned to Price Electric where he took over ownership after the passing of his father. Carl sold Price Electric in 1990 and established a garage door operator and service business, which he managed until 2014.
Carl was a member of North Central Church of Christ, where he served his church for several years as a deacon. He also was a member of the Exchange Club of Bloomington and the American Legion Post 18. He enjoyed golf, coffee in the mornings with his friends, traveling with bank travel clubs to several domestic and international destinations with his wife, Peggy, and spending time with the rest of his family. Carl was a fun-loving man, very genial to all, and fully enjoyed life. Carl will be deeply missed.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Peggy J. Fowler Price; his three children, Jeff Price and his wife Patti, Cheryl Tharp and her husband Rhett, and Ron Price and his wife Mandy; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Nathan, and Jared Price, Heather Brewer, David, Allan, and Jason Tharp, and Heath and Wade Price; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third Street, officiated by Dr. Richard Fowler. Mausoleum Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
