Linda Elaine McDonald was born March 29, 1948 in Tyler, TX, and passed away May 20, 2017 at her home in Mesquite, TX. She retired from Navistar Financial after 33 years as a financial officer. Linda will best be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She loved cats, and greatly enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing with her family. She especially loved going on shopping trips where she would always find the best deals. Her great sense of humor and love of jokes; and her giving and thoughtful nature allowed her to easily make new friends. In a day where most people don't know their neighbors next door, Linda made the effort to meet and get to know all of her neighbors, and they knew they could depend on her if they ever needed anything.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Louis Hayes.
She is survived by her sons, Earl Wayne Hopkins of Dallas, and Bryon "Bubba" Hopkins and wife Correna of Forney; grandchildren, Nacona, Presley, Wyatt, and Molly Hopkins; mother, Jewel Powers of Dallas; brother, Melvin Hayes of Mesquite; as well as many extended family members and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00pm, and Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 2:00pm, all at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
