H. Dale Jordan, died peacefully on Monday morning, he was 101 years old. Dale was born on March 5, 1916 in Jenks, OK, the youngest of five children. His four older sisters, Dot, Cozetta, Edith and Alice have all predeceased him. His mother Lula and father Winford also predeceased him.
Dale grew up on the family farm, attending and graduating from Jenks High School at the age of 16. He then attended the University of Oklahoma and Majored in Engineering.
On Labor Day Weekend, 1936, he married Okla Thrasher. This marriage would last for 47 years until her death in 1983.
Dale enlisted in the Army Air Corp at the beginning of WWII and served state side until the last year of the war when he was stationed overseas on Tinian. He remained in the Air Force Reserve and was called again to active duty during the Korean War. He held the rank of Major and retired from the Air Force after the Korean War.
Dale returned to Oklahoma City at the end of WWII and he and Okla gave birth to their only child, Nanette. He also attended and graduated from Oklahoma City University School of Law.
He practiced law before and after the Korean War but decided to go into the manufacturing business after his return from active duty. He and his business partner, Gene Byrd, formed Frigiquip Corporation and began manufacturing car air conditioners.
Dale gradually acquired other manufacturing companies in Carrollton, TX, Albuquerque, NM, and Oklahoma City. These companies became Southwest Factories Inc. He continued as Chairman and CEO until his retirement in 1984.
Dale married the late Beth McAninch in 1984. They spent many happy years together until her death in December 2016. Dale loved his family, his friends and his business. He also had a passion for the game of golf and The University of Oklahoma Sooner Football. He enjoyed a long and active life until the last few years.
Dale was a long standing member of First Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City, various civic groups and a member of the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.
Dale is survived by his daughter Nan and his nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his step-daughter Susan Munkres and her family as well as his step-son Lt. Col. David McAninch (USAF Retired) and his family.
A Memorial Service to be thankful for Dale's life will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Hahn-Cook Chapel.
