Andy Moreno Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 25, 2017.

Juan Andres "Andy" Moreno, 37, of Kingwood, Texas, passed away on May 23, 2017 at his home.

Andy was born on February 14, 1980. He graduated with honors from Kingwood High School in 1998, and went on to attend Texas A&M University in College Station.

Since he was young, Andy had an avid interest in music, which culminated in playing multiple instruments during high school and becoming a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band at A&M. Later, his musical talent would be honed at the School of Rock in Kingwood, where he learned drums, bass and guitar. Andy started his own band called the 3AM Allstars, which performed at various venues across the Houston area.

From the age of 8, Andy was also a highly skilled martial artist and practitioner of Taekwondo, competing in hundreds of local and national competitions. He would go on to become an instructor and, in 2002, he opened his own school of martial arts in The Woodlands, where he was an inspiration to the children and adults he taught.

For nearly 10 years, Andy was a well-regarded employee of Bank of America, working his way up from teller to bank manager.

Andy will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. His kindness, compassion, humor, fun-loving personality and heart for others will always be fondly remembered.

Andy is preceded in death by his mother Virginia Moreno. He is survived by his father Juan Luis Moreno, his brother Alex Moreno, his sister Nativity Dalton and his nephew Tyler Cook.

Visitation will be Friday, May 26, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kingwood Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at St. Martha Catholic Church, 4301 Woodbridge Parkway, Porter, TX 77365. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery, Humble, TX.

I knew Andy from Texas A&M. We were in B-Co together and the news has hit us hard. We are all praying for you and are still in a bit of shock about his passing. I hope you find comfort in the good times and in the fact you will see him again. Gone way too soon for sure. B-Co '01...here...

Andy was so easy to work with as a teller. He was fun-loving yet diligent at the same time. I knew he would go on to do greater things, which he did easily.
I also had the pleasure of seeing him recently at a School of Rock function at my son's school. We talked for a while and gave each other a bear-hug. I am so deeply saddened as his friend and colleague.
My heart and my prayers go out to his family. Please know that he was loved by many and will be sorely missed.

Dear Alex, I am so sorry to hear about your loss; my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I have such good memories of Andy during my Taekwondo years. I was shocked to hear the news and am so sad for this loss; at too young an age.

It's hard to describe how much Andy touched our hearts. We all share the same sadness, emptiness and loss. He may be gone from our sight, but never our hearts. We can never lose what we enjoyed so much about him....his big "heart", friendship, and forever loyalty. He will live on and always be a special part of our Taekwondo family.
