Richard D. Poffenberger 60, of Huntington passed away at his home at 2:09 a.m. on Saturday May 27, 2017. Richard worked as manufacturing associate at United Technologies for several years. He was an avid race fan and a former competitor at Baer Field Raceway. Richard enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was the pillar of his family.
Richard was born on June 7, 1956 a son of Donald and Carrol (Boger) Poffenberger. His parents preceded him in death. .
Survivors include his fiancé: Julie Coffman of Huntington; three sons: Ian Davis of Fort Wayne, Shawn (Rachael) Poffenberger of Fort Wayne, and Kyle (Ashly) Poffenberger of Huntington; a daughter: Jenni Poffenberger of Chicago; a brother: Kim (Deb) Poffenberger of Albion Indiana; and three grandchildren: Jarrod Brincefield of Fort Wayne, Ashlynn Poffenberger of Fort Wayne, and Ethan Poffenberger of Huntington.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 31, 2017 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday May 31, 2017 at 7:00pm following the visitation at the funeral home.
Memorial donations can be made out to the Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
