Mike and family,
Cheryl was one of the first people that I met when Sister Jane hired me in the Office of Catechesis in 2002 and remained someone who could brighten my day with "Hi Jan..." as she smiled at me like I was the one person she most wanted to see during her day.
Cheryl's witness and her love of Christ inspire me to be a better daughter, sister, wife, Catholic woman, and to become more "Christ-like" in my service to others. Thank you for sharing the beautiful gift of Cheryl with those who were blessed to have their path cross with her life.
My prayers are for each of you as you - and we - begin our journey knowing that Cheryl's love and friendship remains with us.

It was with sadness that I learned of the passing of Mrs. Mowan. I remember her as my 3rd grade teacher at St. Patrick's. I have never forgotten her to this day. That is truly a legacy of a life that had an impact on others. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Growing up on Clinton Court, Cheryl and her family were our neighbors. She was also my 7th grade teacher at St. Pat's. She used to have our class send boxes of care packages to "our boys" in Viet Nam, especially Kool-Aid to make the water taste better! LOL She was a favorite teacher of mine, soft spoken and very generous. My condolences and prayers.

I meet Cheryl some 54 years ago when St. Francis was still a college. After college we went our separate ways but whenever I ran into Cheryl there was a smile on her face and conversation flowed. Mike you married a strong faith filled woman. Cheryl Mowan's devotion to St. Therese parish and St. Vincent de Paul Store was unparalleled. Cheryl made the Catholic faith come alive. She was more than words, she was action. Cheryl is a saint in my book. And it is safe to say God agrees. My sympathy to Mike and family.

Cheryl was one of those warm, loving cheerful persons you'll never forget. She was always thinking about and was dedicated to caring for her family, her friends, and all those in need. Her work with the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Fort Wayne and the surrounding area is legendary and it surely won her a high place next to the One who said, "What you have done for the least of my brethren, you have done for me". Rest in His loving peace, Chery!

Mike, Anne, Mark, and all her wonderful grandchildren. God's gifts come in different ways. Your gift was a devoted and loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Her gifts were many, including each of you and her many friends and the time she donated to all the groups she did so much for. Her greatest gift was to enter God's kingdom in heaven. May you find peace and joy in your many memories of her.
