Frank Joseph Dietz, (better known as Fred), 64, of Manchester passed away Saturday May 27, 2017 at home after a seven year courageous fight with cancer. Fred was born in Yonkers, NY and was raised in Bricktown before settling in Manchester for the past 31 years. Fred worked as a Bridge Operator for the State of NJ for 34 years retiring in 2015. When Fred was younger, he worked as an assistant to a blacksmith as well as a brief employment with the Animal Care Sanctuary located then in Toms River which has since relocated in East Smithfield, PA., it was there he met his soon to be wife. Fred loved the beach, especially North Avenue in Seaside Park where he was known and loved by all he met. Fred could do anything he put his mind too, he dug out ponds on his property, built furniture for his home and fixed any kinds of cars, but loved his Fords. Fred was an optimistic and positive-thinking man. He fought his cancer the same way he lived his life, with Dignity and Courage!
Fred was predeceased by his parents Frank and Dorothy Dietz, and is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Elizabeth (West), His brother John Dietz, two sisters, Nannette Wentz and husband Tom, Kathleen Sturdevant and husband Gerald and sister-in-law, Karin Stromborn as well as a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews friends and family members. Not to be forgotten are his beloved pets, Malaika, Chui and Louie and those who have passed on Manny, Mikey, Moe and Smokey.
Thank you to the medical professionals and staff who were on this journey with Fred to make the journey a lot easier to walk.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday June 2, 2017 at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester, NJ from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm., with services to begin at 3:30 pm and please come as you are. Dear Beth, I'm so sorry for your loss. From what you've written about Fred he was quite amazing. To me, your life with Fred, although too short here on earth, was sublime. Such admiration, respect and love for each other. How blessed you are. May you find some comfort in knowing so many people care about you.

A word of kindness and Love for Fred, a Man of honour and light who had such love for his wife . Although I have never met him I have seen into his life through his lovely wife Beth. I met Beth about 12 months ago, myself here in Australia, Beth in USA, I saw her pics of her visit to the elephant re-inter gration centres in Kenya on Friends of Dame Daphne's Facebook page and wondered how she managed to go to such an amazing place which was also a dream of mine. I texted her and asked, Beth introduced me to Sunworld Safaris and I achieved my dream visit last November. Beth and I have been Facebook friends since that time and I have watched her life with this amazing Man Fred ever since. It has been beautiful to see such love including of course Malaika and Chui. So Fred thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for being such a wonderful husband and best friend to Beth and a shining light in this world. Two shining lights together.

I never got the chance to meet Fred in person, but you painted such a vivid picture of him that I feel I have met him a hundred times. I know how deep your love for eachother was and is, so I can imagine what a tremendous loss this is for you. Allow yourself to mourn and to be weak right now. Dear Fred,
I didn't know you personally, but I know you through your wife. She told me how you were a wonderful carpenter and your beautiful home is a testament to that. I know you supported Beth's passion for Elephants. And you never discouraged her from traveling to Africa-but encouraged her! Your wife is a special woman, so I know you must have been that much more...to have Beth as your wife. :) May you rest in peace.
