On Friday, May 26, 2017, S. Kenneth Booker passed from this earthly life to be with Jesus on resurrection day. He was born on Monday, May 11, 1931. He was a born again Christian (St. John 3:3, KJV), joined the Church and was baptized by immersion soon after reaching the age of accountability. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Mary Joanne, his parents Herbert and Edith, a grandson, John Christopher Stevens, and his sister, Helen Branson. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara, son Michael, daughter Pamela Stevens and husband Richard, daughter Jenifer, five grandchildren, one grandson-in-law, and brother, Olen Booker.
Kenneth was a veteran of the Korean War and after retiring from AT&T, gave many years of volunteer service to the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He loved helping people, gardening, and collecting; he was always able to find value and purpose in the smallest things.
Per his wishes, a private service was held at Murphy Funeral Home in Falls Church, followed by a private interment with Military Honors at Fairfax Memorial Park in Fairfax, VA on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Arrangements under the direction of Murphy Falls Church Funeral Home, Falls Church, VA.
