Theo Mannor Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 2, 2017.

Theo Eleanora Mannor, age 98, of Mesick passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017. She was born May 4, 1919 in Butternut Michigan, to Wilber and Sadie (Baxter) Young. Theo married the late Leonard Earl Mannor on June 15, 1944 at St. Mary's of Hannah Catholic Church.

She retired from Wolerts where she worked for over 25 years. Theo was active in her church, St. Therese, in Lansing, and later St. Mary's of Hannah in Kingsley. She loved to garden and was a member of the Garden Club for a time. Theo loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Whether it was a relaxing fishing trip or cooking for a large crowd, she was happiest when a crowd of family and friends were near.

Theo is survived by her son: Larry (Joan) Mannor of Lansing; two grandsons: Loren and Landon Mannor; five great grandchildren: Luke, Zachary, Nicholas Quinn, EmmaJo and Abby Mannor; and many special nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Theo was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, granddaughter Tina Mannor, and brother, Ormel young.

A visitation was held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. with a scripture service at 7pm at the Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley. A funeral mass was held Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at St. Mary's of Hannah Catholic Church. Theo was laid to rest next to her husband at St. Mary's of Hannah Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Theo's name were directed to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Arrangements were entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Kingsley.

Larry and Joan, My heart is with you and your family in the loss of your mom, my dear Aunt Theo. She was a lovely person and you were blest to have had her so many years. I was glad for the beauty of her farewell service, all the pink and white surrounding her, reflecting the warmth and kindness, capturing her essence. And the various family branches present, offering support and respect for her and also yourselves. We will all miss her and remember. God be near and bring you comfort.

Our thoughts are with your family during this difficult time. I have fond memories of Aunt Theo and Uncle Leonard at their home in Lansing. She was such a kind person who loved children. I remember how happy she was when I brought Sara to visit as a baby. When I think of her, I think of her love of the outdoors and their trips to the river.
With the recent loss of Jim's father, we certainly sympathize with your loss.
Love,
JoAnn & Jim
