Shannon was truly one of a kind!! He was always there to help with a smile and a chuckle. His shinning light is in our hearts and shinning brightly in heaven!!! He was a man of God and loved his family so much. He accepted life and what it had to offer with DIGNITY, GRACE, and COURAGE!!! If you asked him how he was doing he would tell you a little lie - it was his way for you not to worry! Shannon's precious memory will live on in the lives of his family and especially his beloved friends. I am grateful that God gave me Shannon as my friend but hate it was soooooo short!!!!!! Bet he and Doug are sitting on a bench telling their stories!
Always, Sandy

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His Hand, Forever.
I love & miss you so much. Words can't describe the pain we are all experiencing. I know that you wouldn't want us in so much pain, but it's hard, so hard. Your family is pulling together, just the way you would want it. We will continue to find comfort in each other & most importantly, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. ❤

I have known and admired Shannon for many, many years. His character and strength have always been amazing and he did everything with such joy. He helped with remodeling my house in Anderson, he helped me move to Columbia and so many times he has always been there to help me and Jim. He ALWAYS had a smile on his face, ALWAYS! Through the years, I've marveled at his beautiful gingerbread house creations, shared many Mother's Days with Nancy and Shannon, many Halloweens, and many good times. He had such an abiding love for those in his life....for Nancy, Stephanie, Lynde, and last but certainly not least his Grandchildren! No one was as special as those kids. The last time I saw him was at a High School play that Isabella was in.and before that at a recital and before that at a ballgame for Brady Mac....again, he was always there when he could be and always all smiles! He never missed an opportunity to support his grandchildren and his love for his family leaves a wonderful legacy to all four of these wonderful kids. Shannon also leaves many friends to cherish his memory. He was a tremendous inspiration to me and I will forever be grateful for his friendship. Love, Mama Laney
