O'DIAM, Mona Fae (O'Hara), was an angel on Earth, and she became an angel in heaven on June 3, 2017. She spent the last 62 years loving her dear husband, Ben O'Diam-- and that endeavor was truly the joy of her life. Mona Fae was born on Feb. 13, 1930, the daughter of Lenz and Ada (Hanes) O'Hara. She was lovingly raised by her grandmother, Bertha Lenz, after Ada's untimely passing. Mona Fae graduated as valedictorian in 1948 from Beavercreek High School, the third of six (and counting) generations to go through the Beavercreek School system. On October 18, 1952, she had her first date with her beloved Ben at a Nat King Cole concert. They were wed on April 2, 1955, and the rest made for the most beautiful history. Mona Fae's life was defined by her love for her family. She poured her heart and soul into her children, Kay O'Diam, Thomas (Deanna) O'Diam, and Karen (Lennie) Farwell. Nine people were blessed to call Mona Fae their grandma -- Nick (Rachel) O'Diam, Josh Luckenbill, Brittany (Adam) Horseman, Daniel (Jessica) Luckenbill, Katie (Scott) Baker, Lindsey (Alex) Taylor, and Ashlyn, Allison and Adrianne Farwell. In addition, Maeley, Camden, Jacob, Benjamin and Laela made their great-grandma's heart truly shine. Mona Fae's legacy lives on as her family pays a quarter every time someone says shut up, as they incorporate chocolate into every dessert, and as they strive to make each "I love you" as sincere as possible. This beautiful woman lived a life of grace, and grace she leaves behind. Mona Fae's family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 7 from 4pm-8pm at Tobias Funeral Home (3970 Dayton-Xenia Road in Beavercreek). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 8 at 4pm at the Beavercreek Church of the Brethren (2659 Dayton-Xenia Road in Beavercreek). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution to your favorite local charity in Mona Fae's memory. Condolences can be expressed to the family at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.

I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Mona Fae. She was such a key person to me in my early life in the Beavercreek Church of the Brethren. So kind, and such a loving person. She was also my piano teacher, and I loved spending time with her as she helped me improve my skills. She will be missed!

Dear Ben & Family,
Please accept our most sincere condolences for your loss. Mona Fae was no doubt an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother, but she was so much more. She fully used the gifts God entrusted to her throughout her lifetime to make a positive difference in the lives of many she touched. Our earliest memories are of her playing the piano at church. Mona Fae worked behind the scenes to support Ben in his longstanding role as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 68. These were just two of many examples. God no doubt met Mona Fae at the Pearly Gates, gave her a big hug, and told her "Well done my good and faithful servant." Mona Fae's life was one well lived.

To the family,
May God give you for every storm... a rainbow,
For every tear... a smile,
For every care... a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share,
For every sigh... a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Dear Ben and Family,
Oh, what a lovely lady! I know she will be missed. I pray that your memories and your faith will help you during this difficult time. The "Parkwood Family" was all the more loving and special because of the O'Diam Family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
