COLLETT, CAROLYN LOUISE LUKER, age 77, of Casselberry, FL peacefully passed away on May 21, 2017. Carolyn was born in FL Hospital South in Orlando, FL on November 27, 1939 to Charles and Marie Luker. She grew up in Orlando and Tampa, returning to Orlando her freshman year of high school. Carolyn graduated from Edgewater High School in 1957, where she was the Art Club President, a member of the FHA and Junior Red Cross.
While attending Orlando Junior College of the University of Orlando, Carolyn was Student Council Treasurer, Yearbook Editor, a cheerleader, and a Homecoming candidate. Carolyn was voted “Who’s Who, Best All Around” and was bestowed the title of Miss Orlando Junior College in 1959. She graduated with an Associate of Arts degree.
After college, Carolyn worked for The City of Orlando and then Martin Marietta as an Illustrator. Carolyn also earned her Real Estate License and later worked in residential real estate. Subsequently, she worked in Property Management until retirement. Carolyn was a life-long Presbyterian, and most recently a member of Winter Park Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed attending the friendship luncheons and participating in VBS.
Carolyn’s hobbies included art, reading, and gardening. Her greatest joy in life was being with family and friends and sharing memories.
Carolyn will be deeply missed by her loving daughters Michelle Trahan and Kimberly Roberts, affectionately known as her “5 angels” grandchildren Catherine & Jennifer Fields and Jarrett, Shane, and Christina Roberts-all of Casselberry, FL; and by her much-loved sisters-in-laws Bonnie Anderson of Orlando, FL, Deborah Collett of Debary, FL, and Sue Collett of Greenbrier, TN. Also, mourning the loss of Carolyn will be her beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other special friends.
Carolyn Collett was predeceased by her husband, Glenn W. Collett; her father and mother, Charles L. Luker and Marie B. Norman; and her brother Charles R. Luker.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 9th from 5:30-7:30 at Baldwin Fairchild Goldenrod Chapel, 7520 Aloma Ave., Winter Park, FL. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 10th at 10:30AM at Winter Park Presbyterian Church, 400 South Lakemont Ave., Winter Park. Immediately following the memorial services there will be a brief ceremony at Glen Haven Memorial park, 2300 Temple Dr., Winter Park, FL.
The family invites you to rejoin them at Winter Park Presbyterian Church for a reception and a celebration of Carolyn L. Collett’s life. In lieu of flowers, Carolyn’s wishes were that a memorial contribution be made to WPPC. Please specify “In memory of Carolyn Collett.”
